I am back. And what has brought me back is yet another pink typewriter. This one is a Royal Quiet De Luxe circa 1955 or 1956.
I found it on Craigslist just before Christmas. But as pretty as she is, she is bound, I hope, for a new home. I've just listed it on Etsy, so scoot on over if you're interested.
As for my (extended) absence, well, a lot has been happened in my life that seems to be pointing me in a different direction.
My focus is no longer on accumulation. In fact, I hardly picked my beloved town cleanup last fall except for one very comfortable chair (keep reading). Instead, I am focusing now on getting rid of inventory.
How serious am I about letting stuff go? Serious enough to let my de-stashing be the primary focus of this blog.
Expect to see posts about the joys of lightening up and stuff hitting Etsy and maybe even Ebay, which I am not a big fan of but it does help move merchandise.
But I won't quit buying entirely. I sold a lot of stuff on Etsy over Christmas. The most reliable sellers were ceramic Christmas trees and spire-type tree toppers so if those pop up, I'll snag 'em. The same goes for pastel colored vintage typewriters.
But more about that comfy chair.
The chair and matching ottoman were my best finds during town cleanup last fall. Both pieces were at the curb. And better yet, they match our sofa.
I didn't know how Mr. VS would feel about this because the last time I dragged home something upholstered, it had a rather distinct and unpleasant odor. But after a quick vacuum, this one was just fine, and over the holidays, there was a bit of a fight to see who could sit in in first.
So there you have a quick update. I promise not to stay away for so long.
