Well, hi there. It's been a little while, hasn't it?
I didn't mean to disappear but sometimes life gets hectic, which can make me a bad blogger.
The cure for that of course is some therapeutic ornament sorting.
Did I mention that it was a very good year for ornament buying? Actually, a very, very good year. Since April I bought every ornament pictured at assorted rummage sales, garage sales and an estate sale or two.
Fortunately, there were lots of Shiny Brites, which is always a good thing.
Including some with nice stripes, frosted glitter and indents.
And a hole dozen of extra-large ones with wintry scenes.
Plus some pretty painted Polish ornaments.
And some solids. Some of these ornaments will hit my Etsy shop soon. I'll also use some to make some ornament wreaths for an upcoming craft show.
Did I mention it's a little hectic around here? I guess I might be responsible for some of the lunacy by taking on a little too much sometimes.
But before I fire up the glue gun again, let me show you a few of my favorites.
Why they're pink of course. No surprise here.
Holy smokes. Fantastic! They seem to be drying up here. Either that or there are just too many collectors now. It's okay though I have zillions. Or that's what I keep telling myself!

That's what I have to do -- sort those shiny brites! Just got more at a church Christmas bazaar yesterday and a thrift store today. Really one thing you can't have too many of, right? Your collection is fabulous!

SSSSSSSSSWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNN!
For me, just the best eye candy out there! Vintage ornaments are my true love, at least of all things material. You did hit the jackpot. 2010 was a banner year for me as well. Lucky us!
Here's hoping the general public stays clueless in 2011! LOL!

It never ceases to amaze me how many of these delicate beauties have survived all these years. I've no doubt it's because they were lovingly stored in their original boxes which kept them safe and sound. You are going to make some kick ass wreaths with all that! xo, suzy

We used to have the purple and silver ones with the scenes when I was growing up. I keep looking hoping to find a box somewhere. My brother has them now as he had memories of them, too.

Wow! Look at all of those fabulous ornaments! I think you and Barbara over at Oodles and Oodles have a little competition going over who has found the most ornaments this year! Like I said on her blog, I'm so jealous of all the shiny brites! I think this is motivation for me to get out & do some serious yard saling next spring!!

Every time I look at this I want to go get the Christmas stuff out and start decorating. It's only Nov 12th. darn...

I am completely jealous! You just can't find Shiny Brites in my area, unless they are at an antique store!
My cat shattered the one and only silver one I did manage to find.
