Last spring, I went to a rummage sale. Actually, I went to a LOT of rummage sales. But at this one, I didn't find any treasures until I looked under a table and saw a plastic bag filled with fabric. I dug deep inside and pulled out this:
And this.
And this.
And soon, I had several little dresses, which I can only assume someone had made a long, long time ago, probably for a doll. The fabrics are quite sweet and many of them are trimmed in lace and rick-rack and eyelet. Several feature these little flaps that I think are aprons of some type.
To mark my 100th post (actually it may be 102 or 103), I'm sharing my little dresses, which seems only appropriate. For the last 10 months, so many of you have shared so much with me. When I started blogging, I didn't know if anyone was really out there. But then, one by one (just like the little dresses), I met so many blogging buddies who love all the things that I do. I guess all I had to do was look in an unexpected place to make new friends.
But, back to the dresses. I think that they would be cute framed in a shadow box or hanging from a clothesline, like this, in your laundry room:
All you have to do is leave a comment and you're in the running. On Sunday, I'll pick two names and each winner will receive three little doll dress, plus some vintage clothespins, to help you try that clothesline idea.
Good luck, and remember because I'm still not the center of the blogging universe that your chances of winning are really, really good.
I've been reading your blog for a while now. I don't have a blog of my own, but do love reading about other people's creativity and all the neat things they find while going to garage sales, rummage sales, and antiquing. The dresses tht you are giving away are simply adorable. I can see them in a frame in a little girls room or heck even a big girls room!

Those are SO cute! You always find such adorable things! So sweet of you to share these with someone. They would look super cute in a sewing room, too.

I love the dresses and all of the cool treasures that you find rummaging. Those dresses remind me of a set that my grandma made for my doll and I. I no longer have mine, but I do still treasure my dolly dress.

Those dresses are delightful. How I would have liked them for my doll when I was a little girl. They are just too precious for words. I am new to blogging, but you have inspired me to look closer at things when I go to garage sales. Keep up the good work. We have to save the treasures that other people call junk.

Ooh, they're darling! I saw the cutest idea on the Allsorts blog about hanging them in little shadowboxes--that would be perfect!
I'm getting anxious for garage sale season to start around here. I need a junk fix BAD! LOL

Having seen these live and in person, I just want to say that even as cute as these photos are, the dresses are even cuter up close and personal. Great idea with the clothespins.

So the moral of the story is...dig deep. I'll have to remember that even when my back aches. Those dresses made from the old fabrics are wonderful and might even fit one of my dolls. Please enter me in your drawing.

Oh, gosh how cute are those? Very! I've been wanting to string a "clothesline" against the wall in my girls room and hang little dresses (I saw it in a magazine years ago)...I also have fabric doll patterns to sew that need clothes...well, if I don't get lucky I will still make some 'cuz now I'm inspired.
Congrats on your 100th!
