Welcome to spring in Central New York, where the first of the rummage sales compete with what I hope is winter's last blast.
You're looking at a few of my finds from last Saturday's first rummage sale of the season. And, yes, it was a very, very good sale.
I found these political hats and the noisemakers in a large plastic bag filled with plastic leis and New Year's Eve decorations.
An assortment of yardsticks.
Some trick or treat buckets are always fun, especially the one wearing the mask.
Some plaster frames and some silhouettes of a guy named George.
The top half of dress form that I hope to flip at City Market in May.
A pair of interesting bank bags, and, yes, I'm also wondering how someone came to collect them.
But the best find of all is this wallpaper catalog from 1953-54 that's filled with lots of wallpaper samples. Here are just a few.
Can I top this? I intend to try. There's another sale on Thursday and I'll be there.
