I am not one to take a risk without some major debate. In fact, I wrote a blog post about trying to buy sure bets.
So I'm a bit surprised that I am now the owner of one -- or maybe two -- vintage stainless Christmas trees in an unusual combination of silver and gold.
It happened, perhaps appropriately, at a sale that I've dubbed The Over The Top Sale.
Tree No. 1: Big (mangled box), lots of branches, a center pole but no base.
Tree No. 2: No (original) box, lots of branches and a base.
I'd tell you all about it right now, but I'm heading out of town for a few days and I don't have time to blog about my adventure until after Labor Day.
Yes, I know, it's cruel to leave you in suspense, but I'll reward you for your patience and maybe even have some pictures of at least one assembled tree.
Until then, Happy Labor Day!
