Mr. VS and I went to an estate sale recently, and I sort of wanted to buy these.
But I hesitated because they were more than just vintage dolls.
They were the weirdest lamps I have ever seen in my life.
I debated quite a bit, but I really couldn't argue with Mr. VS, who told me that I needed them like I needed, well, a hole in my head. Which of course these dolls had, and I finally decided that those holes didn't do much for their re-sale value.
And besides, I had already exceed the limit on weird the day before when I went to the liquidation of a floral business and I bought this.
Yes, that's a big box of the embossed gold script words that you see displayed on ribbons that adorn floral arrangements and wreaths at the funeral home.
There are dozens of them, everything from Mother to Father to Mama to Papa to Cousin to Grandma and Grandpa. (That Baby one is breaking my heart, but I'd like to think it could be repurposed into a happy project or used in a scrapbook.)
But now I am second guessing myself just a little. Maybe I would have bought the lamps if I had seen them before the funeral script?
How about you? What would you have done?
