I took a recent trip to Ohio so I planned to share my Ohio junk with you.
But the stuff that I came across was beyond tacky.
At a flea market, two guys tried to interest me in a prosthetic leg, which was labeled "dead guy's leg."
Wait, it gets better.
A little while later, another guy did an Elvis impersonation for me, complete with the giggling leg and swiveling hips. No, he wasn't wearing the "dead guy's leg."
I didn't have a camera to document this, but I swear I am not making anything up.
Fortunately, before leaving for Ohio, I stopped at an estate sale that advertised a Christmas room and I picked up some good New York junk.
What's better than a Hazel Atlas eggnog set?
Of course. Two Hazel Atlas eggnog sets, including one that's in its original box. That's two bowls and 12 mugs.
Other Xmas finds: Some miscellaneous ornaments, including some cute little plastic ones that are just right for a feather tree.
Some Jewel-Brites, featuring caged angels.
And a lot of spaghetti-style angels. The candleholders on the left are Holt Howard. The salt and peppers on the right are marked Japan and still have their cork stoppers.
All of which brings me to a little bit of an announcement. It will soon be Christmas in July in my Etsy shop. I'll be listing some new Christmas items, including, I hope, some of my Santa kitsch wreaths.
This is one of the ones that I made last year, which was won by Pam in a giveaway.
I plan to make a few wreaths each month between now and Christmas and get them in the shop.
You'll be the first to know.
