There hasn't been much to report lately from the estate sale/junking side of my life, so permit me to be a proud mom and tell you about my oldest daughter, Emily, who is spending the semester in the Disney College Progam at Walt Disney World.
I can't say much about exactly where she is working, but I can report that it's a perfect role for her. And, with some luck, it could get even better.
Best of all, Emily is literally having the time of her life. You see, bad mother that I am, I never took my children to Disney World. So now, at 21, she is experiencing it all for the first time and loving every minute of it.
Getting to Disney World is the culmination of a dream that began many years ago for Emily. Appropriately, one of her Christmas presents was a countdown chain made by her sister, Grace, who was inspired by a similar chain on Pinterest. Emily's chain had 27 "Mickeys" that represented the days before she left for Florida. Each Mickey was made of four construction paper links that were yellow, black and white and red. The black links even had two ears on them, glued on by yours truly. (If you're doing the math, that's 54 ears.)
Before we knew it, we were down to the last few days and links, and off she went.
So 2013 is starting off much better than 2012 ended. Through my daughters, I have been reminded that if you have a goal, work hard and stay the course, that sometimes dreams really do come true.
It's a lesson that's sure to inspire me in the new year.

That is a wonderful gift with that countdown chain..and what fun to spend a semester at Disney World. My husband never went as a kid and when we hit Disneyland with our kids...lets just say I had an extra kiddo in tow! Enjoy that time of your life Emily!
