It isn't officially autumn until I pull out my favorite tablecloth.
Normally, I wouldn't find the combination of orange and brown all that attractive. But this is a graphic mix of interesting shapes.
Those flower petals look like gourds to me, or are they melons? Or is that the same thing, or at least in the same family?
I'm not sure where I found the tablecloth, which is a sturdy weave, like a cactus cloth. It might have been at this thrift store, which has an odd mix of items, as well as a view of a federal prison.
The pedestal bowls came from various thrift stores and were just a dollar or two. I painted them, much like I did with this project.
I gave this bowl just one quick coat of acrylic paint and then I applied some paste wax.
And the miniature pumpkins? The orange one is from the farmers market. The white ones were freebies. Yes, freebies. I had been looking for little "ghost" pumpkins everywhere without success, and then I saw a bunch outside of a downtown restaurant. I went in to ask where they came from and the owner of the restaurant gave me two of them. (Guess where I'll have to eat my next dinner out?)
I think they add the perfect touch of autumn.
