I'm sure there was a day when this Christmas tree looked wonderful, when some 1950s housewife hung it on her front door and congratulated herself on craftiness. But given its sad shape, I think that was many years ago. Still, it charmed me in a strange way at a recent rummage sale, purely for its parts.
There was this strand of vintage glass beads, and you know how I can't walk away from a strand of vintage glass beads.
And these old package tie-ons that remind me of tiny starbursts.
In the end, I managed to pluck these treasures from that homely little tree. Not too bad for something that at first glance seemed destined for the garbage can.
I'd be plucking too! I am always amazed what I can find tucked in an old junky wreath or arrangement. Good job!

They don't even have rummage sales here. At least I've never seen one advertised. Sounds like fun.
