The weekend's sales began with me walking away from of a box of overpriced Shiny Brite ornaments. Of course a few minutes later, I began to wonder if I had done the right thing. After all there isn't an infinite supply of them. But I do have a lot of them already.
But, then I came upon an estate sale, where, deep down in the basement, next to the washer and dryer, there was this shoe box ...
I popped off the lid and tried not to do an obvious happy dance but what I saw made me tap my toe more than a little: Reflectors! Lots of them! And a hint of something more.
Actually, when all the parts were assembled, there were a couple dozen reflectors, plus some interesting pink foil snowflakes, bells and trees.
And the something more?
A strand of glass garland. I have several ones like this but I'm always happy to have another because this was the kind of garland that my grandmother would hang on her enormous Christmas tree when I was a kid.
And, there was even more. Well, a little bit more although this was in a different box.
Some pink and silver picks and a pink tree topper.
And, here's the best part: All of it cost less than even one, yes just one, of those Shiny Brites.
