The best thing about the Madison-Bouckville Outdoor Antiques Show was this:
Getting to share the adventure with fellow bloggers. That's me -- the Amazon woman in the middle, although I never thought I was taller than a tent -- and Gina and Sue. We met on Thursday and browsed several fields along Route 20.
Actually, I mostly looked as Sue power-shopped for "man-tiques" and Gina collected some vintage Christmas. Gina's husband, Paul, who took the photo, dubbed as the "blog squad," which was a fitting description.
The second best thing about Bouckville was this:
The best piece of raspberry pie that I have ever eaten and worth every hip-hugging calorie. Fortunately, I think I was able to walk it off on my second trip to Bouckville on Saturday, going up and down the aisles of the main field. Some of the highlights from both days:
A variety of flower frogs. I especially like that Jade-ite one. And speaking of Jade-ite ...
It was everywhere and, no, there was no discount for the dirt in the cups.
Quirky robo-babies made from old doll parts and tins and other kitchen gadgets. You either love these things or they scare the bejeebers out of you. I think I love 'em (when I'm not creeped out by them).
Mid-Century Modern in Christmas colors.
Buttons, buttons and more buttons.
An interesting way to display Christmas ornaments on an old screen door.
And finally, in homage of Frankie and Mike, whose "American Pickers" seemed to inspire a lot of what I saw, was this industrial cart turned into a coffee table. There were several of these in one booth and all were sold.
And what did I buy? Here's a hint:
More to come in my next post, plus what I found to include my giveaway.
We do have similar tastes, although I prefer the peach. Oh, we weren't talking about pies? ;) I was eyeballing those frogs too, and I wish I could give all my friends those crazy robo-babies. Only I don't think they would get it.
So fun hanging out with you on Thursday, although when I saw our photo MY outburst was "Whyyyy am I so short?!" Can't wait to see all your finds!

Does she really have those buttons marked at 24 dollars? For 12 buttons? Holy crikey.

I confess right now that I'll be using that screen door-ornament idea - it's brilliant. And of course, I happen to have an old wooden window screen hanging around (doesn't everyone?).
Vintage Christmas tease? Giveaway? woo-hoo!!
