I'm going home for a quick visit. Home is Columbus, Ohio, where I was born and raised. In my memories, it looks like this. In reality, it's become a BIG city that I often don't recognize.
The big white building in the center of the postcard is what was called the LeVeque Tower. When I was a little girl, it was the tallest building in Columbus. It was also the landmark I looked for when coming back from a trip to visit my grandparents in Cincinnati.
This week, I think I might finally get inside that building. My family has been invited to watch Red, White & Boom, supposedly the largest Independence Day fireworks display in the Midwest, from one of the upper floors of the tower. I also plan to hit a few flea markets (including I hope the largest one in Ohio), a retro craft store and who knows what else. I'll have plenty of photos (and maybe a few stories) when I return. Until then, take care, my blogging buddies.
